By the way, your requirement is ridiculous. No program can handle any type of file, mostly because there are so many file types around. I can even create a complete new one if I choose to. You should focus on a select group, starting with the usual: plain text, HTML, images, Office, Open Office. I believe that OpenOffice.org can handle most (if not all) of these.
