Joining cattle drive - Payment!

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi,

I think I'll sign up. I've done a java course but as I don't want to get rusty and want to have something to focus on by way of assignments and further improve my skills and understanding then the cattle drive sounds like a good idea.

I am registered of course so I looked at the payment option by clicking the paypal button but on first view I don't see how you know that I have paid and not someone else? Can you tell me how the payment is connected to me as initially I see nothing related to my registered user name? You will receive a payment but how do you know who form?

Thanks,

Colm

Hi,
After making a payment, I remember I received a welcome email (my email attach to my profile at javaranch) from either Paul Wheaton or Katrina Owen. I am then instructed to send the assignment to my nitpicker via email. As far as how will they know if it is you who make the payment, doesn't paypal have your name. I am sure your name and the payment is somehow connected.

Good luck and hope to you see here,
Gary

Thanks for your input.

Well, I don't have a paypal account but the link provides the option to pay using credit card if you don't have a paypal account. This is my intention and this is why I'm wondering how Java Ranch know that it is me who paid just by handing over credit card details..unless there is a page after payment that allows me to add some personal details?

Of course I treat this transaction like any other online transaction I conduct.

Regards,

Colm.

I think I used my credit card to pay.
Are you concern that you might pay and not be registered? As far as that is concern, I am sure this site is secured and does not do any fraud transaction.
If you wanted to know what exactly goes under the hood between sending your credit card information to the administrator receiving it, I cannot help with that.

Good luck,
Gary
