hello world!

i am just wondering how one will proceed to run and control a script that resides on a server like on your own web hotel?
i am thinking about php and perl scripts? i dont want this to be done with J2EE and servlets or jsp mainly because i dont
have any support for J2EE in my domain. i have tested J2EE berfore but i want to try another way to do this. maybe this is a
stupid or not so thought out question on my behalf. I wish i could use a japplet for this but i cant. The app i want to write
should work like a servlet in its data handling procedures concerning the control of form data but it should be stored on you
local machine. I know how to run commands and scripts locally by the using the exec method in the Runtime class using
the appropriate parameters. but how to connect this app to a online based script is far too advanced for me? i would be
very glad to see if someone could post me tips on this here or links to articles about java and php + perl programming.

i love this site,
