does hibernate provide any encryption for tables

hi all i am using hibernate and my data base is mysql.
1)is there any option in hibernate to store tables/columns encrypted.
2)my sql has build in functions of encryption how can i use them with hibernate.

please suggest me on this.

Hibernate is just a Java application so you can use the support Java provides. You can call any SQL you like via Hibernate, but be aware if you tightly couple your application to one database implementation you remove on of the main reasons to use Hibernate in the first place.
