I realize this is a fairly simplistic question, but I've honestly searched for this for a while, and come up empty. Yes, I feel foolish.

Anywho, the situation I'm in is I've got a build.summary file in my META-INF folder that I would like to display when the users click on a link. All this really amounts to is displaying some pre-written release notes inside my app. Here's what I'm trying at the moment:

Which displays nothing but the "Release Notes" heading. I suspect I'm doing something minor wrong, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe I shouldn't be using import? Can someone help?

You're doing something major wrong. You're attempting to mix JSF and JSTL, which is something that should be done carefully, if at all.

I do something similar, but I just construct a file named "version.txt" with the build info in it, place it in the webapp root, and retrieve it via the "/version.txt" URL.

Thanks for the replies (and the welcomes)

I'd happily stop using jstl, if I knew what to use instead. I can move my build file out of meta-inf, but I need to keep it packaged in my .war file due to some build/deployment restrictions that are out of my control. Sample code would be greatly appreciated.
