Problem using anchor tag with link stored in db

OK there's the situation. In the database I'm using the user of my webapp can submit a link to the article they are currently studying. I want my webapp to be able to link them to their article. So, on the display page that calls the data from the db is using an standard anchor tag to display it.

Here's the problem. Sturts parses the anchor tag and puts my webapp's main address in front of whatever I load from the db. This causes the link to fail everytime, even when the link in the db contains the full link (http://....).

Any help would be greatly apprepiated....
