Welcome to the Ranch!

Oracle's Java Tutorials are a great place to start. You can find lots of good tutorials there, from topics for beginners to advanced things. And ofcourse, practice a lot, and if you have questions, ask them in the forums here.

Have a look at our own Java Beginners FAQ.

Have fun learning Java!

Hello sakshi sa, welcome to the CodeRanch.

You could read the Head First Java book.

It is a good book to start with.

For beginners, books are the first point.

You may refer http://roseindia.net for specific code examples.

I would also suggest Head First Java. It is one of the best books to start with. This book is meant for beginners, and is very interactive (it has different to explain things via pictures and stories).
