In our requirement we need to get file size of file present on FTP server.
but we want to get file size without reading entire file.
For ftp purpose we are using ftp4j lib.
How can we achive this? please provide suggestion

Why do you think it's necessary to read an entire file just to determine its size? The FTPFile class will tell you the file size.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
