Step 1: Make sure you get the stickers out of the way. Remove them carefully
Step 2: Take all accessories / items out of the house.
Step 3: Paint the house.
Step 4a: Take your house and leave it under the mid-day sun to dry
Step 4b: Replace stickers
Step 5: Your house is now painted. Replace all items / accessories (including Barbie) back into the house.

In cooking, the slogan is "apply heat to desired done-ness".

So for this, I'd say "apply paint to desired painted-ness".

First, thanks for teaching us "fresher". I always enjoy learning new British slang.

Inside or out? There's a difference in what paint and equipment you would use. I was going to suggest Home Depot, but a quick search showed me that while they are in China, they haven't made it to India yet. Maybe there's some equivalent? Come to think of it, there's always the "quick search" idea. Type "how to paint a house" into Google, and you'll find a wealth of information at your fingertips. Ah, Google ... is there anything you don't know?

hmmm!!! Painting on your own.

If you have so much confidence, then search for "Paining my home" and click "I am feeling lucky".

Please make sure you do not make the paint mixture thinner that it falls on your floors and you need someone to clean your house first.

Take 1 big bucket of good paint.
Place it near the walls you want to paint and remove the lid.
Place a stick of dynamite (or any other high explosive) in the middle of the bucket and light it.
Run as fast as you can and only stop with running after you heard an explosion (or after 2 days).
Return to your house and you'll see that every thing is perfectly painted.

Drivel or not, that question is quite a bit like "I want to write a computer program, how do I do it?" There's so many details which you have to deal with.

Like for example, there's parts of your house you don't want to paint. Windows are the most obvious of these but there's a lot more. Your furniture. The thing you cook food on. The light switches. The floor, probably. So you'll want to make sure you don't paint those things. For big things like the furniture, just throw a cloth over them. (Here another detail pops up: what kind of cloth? You want one which paint won't leak through and mess up the furniture. You don't want to use something which you need for anything else in the future.) Where was I? Okay, for small things like say light switches, you just need something to mark the edge of where the paint is going to be applied. Where I live we have painter's tape, which is sticky tape which you put on the wall. You paint up to the edge of the tape and you can slop paint onto the tape, that doesn't matter. It's sticky but not very sticky, so you once you're finished you just peel off the tape and your painted area has a nice straight edge.

If you're painting large unbroken areas you can use paintbrushes, or paint rollers, or even spray painting equipment. Don't know if you have those things in India. Here in North America the spray-painting option is used by professionals because the cost of the equipment is less than the cost of the workers. So that probably isn't used that much in India. It also requires great care in the covering-up-things-not-to-be-painted department as you can imagine.

I could go on but they haven't hired me to write "House Painting for Dummies" (sorry ). But good luck with your paint job.

Painting a house/boat/car/etc is easy. Prepare the surface, cover with paint. Cleanup any spills.

Usually, if your house needs painting, its because the old paint is chipped and peeling. This is very bad, since it means that preparing the surface will be a ton of work. Its pointless to paint over peeling paint. The new paint will just fall off when the underlying paint chip falls. So you get to scrap and sand, and fill any gaps/cracks, while replacing any rotten wood.

The preparing the surface step usually takes two or more times as much work, effort, and time as the actual painting part.

To be serious for a moment (just one), Pat is entirely correct: painting a house is 98% preparation and 2% painting.

And another 90% clean-up.

And don't forget the paint details too. Either note the color components, or better yet, take a picture of the sticker. This way, many years later, you can buy the exact same paint for touch up purposes.

Sounds as though you want to buy a DIY book, which will give instructions about how to paint almost every part of a house.
Also, don't expect to do it quickly. To paint all the window-frames will take the whole of a weekend. And you can't paint outdoors if it rains. And you will have to open and close the windows every half-hour until the paint is dry, otherwise . . .
