Hi,

should I read something before "Pro Android Web Apps" or it is good for start for total newbies?

Best,

Haven't got it myself, but I think "pro" would imply its a bit higher than newbie level ;)

on apress.com :

Who this book is for
This book is targeted at web developers looking to transfer their skills over to mobile application development. Readers will understand that Android is continuing to gain momentum in the marketplace and will want to build an application specifically for that platform. They will have a strong desire to use web technologies rather than the native tools to build applications, either due to personal taste or to gain cross-platform mobile portability for the majority of their application code.

so i guess some knowledge in programming is necessary

Michallis

Hi Tomasz !
It depends how "newbie" you are ;-).
HAve some experience with HTML, Javascript and CSS ? If not you should definitively take a look at these technologies, there are a lot of tutorials on the web. Just learn the basics and that should be enough to start with the book.

Sebastien,
My web development experience is from several years ago, writing HTLM 4 and straight JavaScript. I'm currently reading a book on jQuery but haven't done much with it. Does that sound like a reasonable starting place? Do you cover the use of frameworks like jQueery mobile?

Thanks,
Burk
