Hi Tomasz !
It depends how "newbie" you are ;-).
HAve some experience with HTML, Javascript and CSS ? If not you should definitively take a look at these technologies, there are a lot of tutorials on the web. Just learn the basics and that should be enough to start with the book.

My web development experience is from several years ago, writing HTLM 4 and straight JavaScript. I'm currently reading a book on jQuery but haven't done much with it. Does that sound like a reasonable starting place? Do you cover the use of frameworks like jQueery mobile?
