Sencha Touch for Android development

I've been wondering if people find this approach worthwhile and manageable.

On "paper" it seems to be an interesting cross-platform approach to mobile app development, eliminating the need for developing in both, for instance, java and objective C.

Have you tried this or similar? Did you find that they were manageable for development of apps with some API interface to the native OS?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.
