we can declare only one public file in a source file and file name must match the public class name

is there any reason to this restriction....

I don't know. Probably to make it easier to find source code. In the past, I've spent hours trying to find the C source code to a routine I was looking for.
Java makes it pretty easy to find stuff.

Great thinking for asking that question....

Never thought about it. Everything in Java is fresh if you look at it from different angle.

Seems like they wanted to keep it simple.
