Hello Ranchers,
Recently i have cleared my ocpjp exam and i was thinking of putting to use all that have learnt so far,i wanted i create a desktop application but i really dont know how to proceed with it.

Until now i have been using notepad to write java programs.May i know which software of java should i use for creating desktop applications??

I want a software wherein we are able to write the code and simultaneously view the API interface also...exactly like how we do in .Net
I dont want to create it using swings.
Hope my description is clear.

I hope you have used notepad for the preparation of OCPJP

netbeans is a good way to start with IDE but I would suggest to use eclipse for java

for building desktop applications
you will have to use the awt and swing packages in java for all the windows desktop application

in netbeans, you will get drag and drop tools just like .NET but I would again suggest eclipse

happy to help

Swings is very rigid and it takes a lot of time...I want a software where we can drag drop text boxes, labels, etc and double click on it for coding...just like the way we do in .Net..is there any software like that in java??

There is a specific version of Eclipse which is Eclipse for Java Developers.

It is small in size.
