Within my servlet, as well as providing links to certain pages, I need to show a preview image of what the linked page looks like.

Does anyone know if I can do this in Java without having to physically open the page?

Thanks,
James

Remember, HTML is going to to look like text until you let a browser render it. By far the easiest approach is just to open the page in a browser - you could style this like a floating preview panel (like Google does).

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
