I work using Oracle E-Business Suite. But something really puzzles me. I'm quite sure that Oracle EBS is a web app. But the display really really looks like desktop app. The login page is called via browser, but after we've chosen the responsibility, it's like we're redirected to a desktop app. Can anybody explain this strange phenomenon? Is it framework related? thanks

These days with RIA technologies even the web applications look as rich as a Desktop application.

Could you give me a more specific example about this RIA? Can JSP/servlet technology achieve this? Or I should use the more recent product such as JFX to achieve this? thanks

Though I am not sure- I think Oracle E- Business suite is based on ADF technology.

You can look JSF, Flex, JavaFX, JavaScript libraries, ZKoss are few which you can look at. These can be integrated with JSP/Servlets/Java backend.
