How are sessions created in struts?

How are sessions handled in struts? Is it even part of its job? For example... I want to keep the username and password attributes stored in a bean for use in my entire application... Any inputs? Thanks!

I think, we can also do the defining through the struts-config.xml file, isn't it?

You can actually define all the form intakes as a session under the "scope" option...

For example,

 <action-mappings>
       <action input="/abc.jsp"
               name="Abc"
               path="/ABCFunction"
               scope="session"
               attribute="user"
       </action>
       </action-mappings>

Using the code, you can get the value of user in the session, such as, user.getPassword(); ...

Anyway, hope the information helps..

Hi,

What is the difference between two? Which one is effecient and secure? Since, we're dealing with userName and password, therefore security is considered.
