hi,
Trying to get some idea here,
salesforce CRM now features a new report builder which allow you to do the following things in browser,
1. drag and drop report column
2. dynamic preview db content
If I am trying to accomplish some similar effects in JAVA, what framework/technology should I try first.

Thanks in advance.

Swing has drag&drop functionality. I assume AWT has it also. But any other view technology will probably also support it. So it is up to you.
