Can we think using JFCUnit to write test cases to be equaivalent to traditional JUnit GUI testing?

My prof. is telling me not to use JFCUnit to write test cases because JFCUnit is not a kind of traditional testing technique.

But I assume that since the JFCUnit is an extension the JUnit, why couldn't I use JFCUnit to test the GUI.

Anyone can help me to convince my prof. or prove me wrong...
