Don't know whether this is significant or minor nitpicking: Computerworld - Apple's new MacBook Pros raise quality concerns.

Wow. I love iFixit -- those guys really know their stuff. I've used their guides to do some amazingly scary things to several Mac laptops over the years, and everything's always been letter-perfect. If they have concerns, then I have concerns. Thanks for pointing this out.

Wait, is this a true quad or virtualized quad? My MBP is an i7 and considered a quad but because it is mobile, it's a virtualized quad. Unlike my desktop PC which is a true quad core.

Good to know. Thanks!

It will be interesting to see if there are follow-ups on this.

I am impressed with the performance of the new Macbook pros. I write my own java based visualization software and have a performance test suite. I downloaded the performance test suite via gmail in an apple store and ran the test to see the performance of the new macbook pros.

The new 2.3GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7 Macbook pro ran my cpu intensive tests about 30% faster than my 6 month old 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 Macbook pro. And the old Macbook pro was ridiculously fast.

The first person to drink cow's milk. That started off as a dare from this tiny ad:
