I don't see apple products being used in India as much as in US, other than ipod, I don't think anything else is used here more, like apple TV, laptops, ipad even iphone. If anyone is using them, they would have bought that from their friends/relatives in US.

OK, so it's not so much "Apple is ignoring the Indian market", it's "Indians are ignoring Apple". Price is certainly a factor. For example, an entry-level iMac is $1200 in the USA, and 75000 Rs in India. Since that is the equivalent of $1670, right off the bat Indian customers are paying 35% more than American customers, probably due to shipping and tariffs.
But Indian consumers do not have as much disposable income; GDP per capita at PPP in Intl. $ is 47000 (USA) vs. 3300 (India). While income is not the same as GDP per capita, there is strong correlation between the two, and it's clear that American consumers can afford a lot more Apple toys than Indian consumers. (And income inequality is actually lower in India than in the USA.)
