Dear All,

I really need help from you guys.

I have an idea of making an application that takes voice as input and
after processing that input , that processed Input should call some function coded in the application.

I was going through freetts.jar . I was able to convert a text string in to voice,
but I need to invoke a method call with the sound input provided by me. and sound input device
I am using is a general head phone device with mike.

Please tell me if this is feasible, and guide me through this.

Thanks in advance.

I think FreeTTS only tackles speech synthesis, not speech recognition. You can try http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/sphinx4/

hi Ulf,

I tried to download Sphinx4 . but it just downloads a zip which doesn't has any jar.
Also if you could send me an example of using the same, that would be highly helpful.

Thanks

Yes, it seems that you need to build it yourself, despite what the download page says. Also make sure to get the latest version (0.6) - the download link goes to an older version. It also looks like you need configure and make available, so if you're on Windows you need to install Cygwin.

There are several examples linked from the page, complete with instructions; what else are you looking for?
