Hi,

I have been searching for a week now for an applet that can scan images from scanner or webcam. i am not a java developer so i have no idea about applets, just how to use them once they are compiled and ready for use.

I have a well-running intranet website - containing over 200,000.00 records using php and mysql. Recently, my company is thinking of associating scanned documents for each record, which is such a huge task. Now, it is been proposed that we move the entire application to desktop application (vb .net) because it can access scanners and webcams easily.

But in my search, I came across one java applet and one activex countrol that indeed accessed my scanner and scanned the image. I prefer java applet or flash but I can't find any open source applet.

Is there any applet that is open source but I haven't yet found? Any tip would be really helpful and appreciated.

Thanks,

Sami

So I left, I came home, and I ate some pie. And then I read this tiny ad:
