The kid is lucky to have survived that. Injuries to the brain can still cause lesions that affect you later in life.

Bullying is no laughing matter. In the US it is getting a lot of attention as it appears bullies are becoming more aggressive, and the affects of bullying are becoming more apparent. Now could it appear that way due to it getting more media attention than before? Yes, I think that is possible, but I still think we need to do something.

From what I understand, the smaller kid had been bullying the bigger one for quite a while, and this was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. While I don't thinking fighting is really ever an answer, I do think you should defend yourself when it is required. That kid threw mulitple punches, including a really hard shot to the face. The bigger kid did what I would tell anyone to do in self defense, and I what I would do personally, which is to what I had to do to stop the attack, and nothing more. He didn't kick the kid while he was down or stomp on him. He stopped the attack, then walked away.

I did have to chuckle, though, at the little kid's friend that started toward him, stopped when he was being watched, then was going to jump him while the other kid walked away. He's REALLY tough......

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
