for whom is SCJA ideal ?

I am going to take the SCJP soon. Should i also take the SCJA later ? For who is this exam ideal ?

SCJA is entry level exam. I would expect someone took it before SCJP, not after.

What are the advantages of taking this test ? Does an SCJA along with SCJP have any advantages (in terms of knowledge gained and job prospects) ?

For me advantage is the new knowledge I gain during prepration for the test.

IMHO, SCJA is more for managers, who need to know all Java platforms (EE, SE, ME), but not at very detailed level.

Note: SCJP is pre-requisite for most other Java tests, while SCJA is not - it's more like SCEA - one can take it without any other tests.

Thanks for letting me know. Is SCEA (and SCJA) for managers or staff who do not need to delve into too much technical details ?

SCJA - for managers
SCEA - for architects

both roles do not deliver any Java code

[edit] NOTE: SCJA has some code snippets in questions, so it's not pure for managers role, more accurate to tell - it's for entry-level Java programmer OR manager. SCEA - does not have any code snippet in part 1 and in assignment, it's pure architect's exam.

What does an architect do ? Is this the same as "software architect" ? Once i know what it means, i will use google to find out what exactly an "architect" does ?
