Our requirement is use Struts Controller part and the JSF components for rich UI. Is it possible??

Can i find any sample applications which is using the above approach?

Yes that would be possible, I don't know of any sites using that combination though.

Netbeans and Java Studio Creator are supposed to have great support for JSF. The MyEclipse plugin to Eclipse is also good.

You might also want to check out the Struts Shale Framework. This is a very new project designed to integrate Struts with JSF. There is no official release of this project yet, but you can get the nightly builds and try it out.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
