hi, im extremely new to blob. i have a task to do like i have to iterate a list based on some conditions, actually this is a list of bids stored in some tables in oracle which are old bids. i have to archive those old bids in such a way that i have to store them as blob in oracle database in some other tables. Now whenever the user wants to see those old bids then i should read those archived blob data and generate a report using java.

Any idea to get begin with ?

thanks in advance

My first question would be, what have you done so far?

Also you could begin by telling us on what platform you're working on. Why the data needs to be stored in a blob. How you're connection to the database etc. Basically TellTheDetails.

Also it is appropriate to tell who you're quoting in your signature like I've been doing for years.

Edit: and there is a typo in your quote.

I would start with the BLOB section of the JDBC tutorial.

Also, moving your post to our JDBC forum.

Hi

You can use serialization mecchanisum.
And serialize each object and pass these serialize file to a specific BLOB column.
If you want to read data from database you can Deserialze the Object...........

I think it is helpful for you
