Hi Ranchers,

So finally it was a D-Day today and I made it !! I gave Oracle Certification for Web Component Developer Exam 5.0 today and passed with a whopping number of 100%!!

A Big thankyou to Kathy Sierra, Bert Bates and Bryan Basham !! You guys wrote an awesome book which kept me 2 months together with the book. All the topics Straight to my head, perfectly giving the book Head First title.... Though the JSP Document section was very small and gave less information, but otherwise I found it superb material to understand the Servlet and JSP API and definately a must have to pass the SCWCD exam.

Next thanks goes to Hanumant Deshmukh and Jignesh Malviya... You guys too wrote a very nice book.. I always kept going back to your book and learnt, step by step tutorial for a hello world servlet was just way too awesome to understand the concepts of servlets and also tomcat setup too. You guys Rock !!

I would especially recommend each and everyone here who is going to give the exam to go through the Final Mock Exam by HF Jsp and Servlets Book, though it does not tell you how much correct answers you have to pick up, but the authors wanted to make it tougher then the exam and it really works.

Also, I have been going through so many mock exams available from SCWCDMockExams link

After a big time of 2months, I made it and I am very glad that it paid off so well.. 100% is something I have never achieved in my life, not in my schooling days as well.. So this day is just toooooooooooo awesome !!

Thanks everyone !

Hi Arvind,

I referred to many of the mock exams. Especially the ones which were free... Like Enthuware, Exam Worx, Test King but to be really honest. These mock exams will only help you pass the exam, but if your concepts are not Strong, You would not be able to last long in the corporate world... So, Yes. Mock Exams do help you, but make sure you understand the concepts in your mind!!

Have fun..

Why didn't you take the new exam? It covers all the new material. SCWCD 5 is material from 4 years ago...

I believe the exam should be given for the release that the corporate world is working on, my company and the other companies that I have my friends in, they all use SCWCD 5.0 yet and hence I thought giving 5.0 makes more sense.

Though I can always upgrade at a later stage but right now 5.0 was something I wanted to go for. Also, When I was giving this exam, we didn't had the new JSP and Servlet Exam available in India, or may be my understanding is incorrect but that is what I was told by the testing center and it was natural for me to go for the latest that they had i.e OCWCD 5.0

Thanks,
Yogendra.
