Hi all,

I'm a bit curious about how long you guys are having a lockCookie held while updating/deleting. In my GUI booking window, nothing gets locked while entering the customerId that is to be entered into the database. It is only once it is entered and submitted that the record is locked, (or not if the lock it is already held), updated, and then unlocked. It all happens pretty fast and the chances of two people doing all this at the same time are pretty small if not zero. Of course I could change this, but the instructions do not really specify. However, It makes more sense that as soon as a client clicks on a record to begin (notice I say begin) booking it, that no one else can try to start that process either so that two people don't book the same record one right after another without ever knowing it. But before I spend the time on a function that might not be required for the exam, I thought I would check.

Thanks.
Matt

as short as possible

so if you start locking on the moment the user selects the record and opens the booking window, you risk having locked a record for a complete day, because the CSR goes out for lunch or for meeting and forgets to close the window.

Cool. A fraction of a second it is then. Less work for me.

Thanks, Roel.
