Thanks. Mac fanboys will shriek, but I do the same thing on OS X. I hate iTunes (well, all library-based music players) with a passion and have some Linux tools that I can't find good OS X replacements for (Tovid for example).
Freeware is such a term from last century. The modern term is free and open source. Some of what I use all the time is free, but not quite open source. This includes Java, Netbeans and similar things.
In the clearly free catagory, I have to include Chrome, Firefox, Thunderbird and Android.

Bull-doody. It's an often-repeated fallacy that market share is a factor. Windows is targeted because it is vulnerable (that's a polite way of saying "a steaming pile of poo").
