Hi All,
I am planning to do SCEA certification, i want to become an architect and hoping that this certification will be best initial step towards it...
Please throw some light on UML and its impact on this certification.

=>I have never used UML before and planning to read martinfowler's UML(2.0) Distilled book and do some groundwork...
=>Any freeware very useful to draw UML? any links to download???
=> Any inputs regarding "UML Complaince"?

Please provide your valuable suggestions.....

Because of the situation you are describing, I ended up doing the UML certification prior to taking the SCEA one. ArgoUML became my default UML drawing tool.

Dan

Hi!
UML Distilled is, as far as I am concerned, a very good introduction to UML and also a very nice reference book - you do not have to read a lot, just find the diagram type and look at the pictures introducing the different elements of the diagram.
UML is essential for the SCEA, since, as far as I recall, there is a requirement to use UML when drawing the diagrams that you are to hand in.
Best wishes!

How come you never come across UML-you have so many certifications from Sun/Oracle?
UML is quite easy-refer to Distilled UML by Martin Fowler or you can pick up any UML book(UML for Dummies will do).

You will learn UML when you will apply it and create UML artifacts from it, merely reading the book is not enough.
