Hey guys...

Recently I came across an BatchUpdateException while executing a set of statements and faced an ORA RaiseError where the database column precision was exceeded. We had around 100 insert statements inside the batch and there was no way to find out what was causing the error. Finally the ORA raiseerror gave us an idea that it has something to do with the Numeric fields. So we started focusing on numeric fields and then finally dig on the correct column.

Is there any way in Java, may be in SQLException or BatchUpdateException or something all together different, which gives us the exact column name that caused the problem? I would really like to know this and I am sure we ranchers must have come across this error and I am not the first one

Would be glad to hear back from you guys!!

Thanks in Advance,
Yogendra N Joshi.
