Hello! I am trying to learn the Java language and watching from "you tube" and other sources, I need to download the JDK from oracle.
My question is what version of JDK for windows should I get? Windowsx86 or Windowsx64? or is there really a difference? ( my laptop has 64bit OS).
Please help.

Make sure you don't download the JRE by mistake. Your download should be about 67MB. If you have a 64-bit Windows OS, then download the x64 version, although the x86 version may work too.

And welcome to the Ranch

The x86 version works on a 64-bit Windows machine, but you are stuck to its limitations. One of those is the maximum amount of memory the JVM can get, 1.5GB.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
