Hello everyone!
Guess what I got in my mail box today? That's right; A piece of JPaper with a GoldEtchedBorder and my name on it. It's official, I'm a Certified Professional
Java Programmer
!
My preparation: 4 years of experience (mostly as a hobby, which is the best kind of experience
), the book by Sierra & Bates and A LOT of practice exams.
For those wondering about certificate shipping time (to The Netherlands): I passed the
test 34 days ago (was lucky enough to score 96%) and my certificate request was "processed" 3 days later. I was about to e-mail Oracle, as they ask you to do so if nothing is received after 30 days, but was relieved to find I didn't have to.
Besides the certificate and congratulations from the Senior VP of Oracle (boy, do I feel special
) there was also a "member card" included in the envelope. This card may be useful as pocket sized evidence of certification, but I'm not sure what else it does. The URL printed on it, gives me a 404
.
I'm now working on the OCMJD assignment. It has been my intention to obtain this pair of certifications from the start. So, I'll be hanging out on the OCMJD forum
.
Cheers guys (and gals)
, long days and pleasant nights!
