Hello All,

I am new to JBOSS application server.

When I try to start it by command line: Run.bat

I am getting some thing like this

"Calling C:\jboss-5\bin\run.conf.bat
'findstr' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
"

I have installed it(unzipped the zip file).

I also have set the
JBOSS_HOME: environment variable.

Please suggest.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply.

Was Checking the link.

This is what I did:

1. I have downloaded and unzipped the jboss-5.0.
2. Set the JAVA_HOME = C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_24 [location of my JDK in my disk]
3. Set the JBOSS_HOME= C:\jboss-5 [this path has Bin].

When I try to execute run.bat

C:\jboss-5\bin>run.bat

Calling C:\jboss-5\bin\run.conf.bat
'findstr' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

any advice here Peter?

You apparently didn't read the entire post that I pointed you to because the answer was in that post, specifically here:

Peter,

I did get chance to look at that. I did go through the script in run.bat .

1. I could not add findstr in my path.

or

2. I could not able to comment out the lines that use findstr. [can you suggest on how to comment these please].

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again,

JBOSS 4.2 works well on my computer, but not JBOSS-5.1

JBOSS-5.1 works really well in my desktop computer[same configuration & OS] but not in my laptop computer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks.

To comment out those lines, open the run.bat file with a text editor and add "rem " to the start of each line.
