Hey to all,
One of my friend who is CCNA certified asked me a question about JAVA certifications. He asked me what will you get by gaining an EXPERT level certificate as I am preparing for "Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 6 JavaServer Pages and Servlet Developer Certified Expert Exam (CX-310-085)" .
I couldn't answer him precisely and that embarrass me a lot.
He than told me in Cisco certification path EXPERT level is a very high level and there are only 16 to 18 peoples from INDIA who have passed this exam. Beside this he also told me about the profits of being an EXPERT in Cisco certification.

This is the reason i am searching all over the internet for a precise answer of being an EXPERT in JAVA.
Could anyone please explain me in detail about this EXPERT level and VALUE of an EXPERT in market??

First, of course there is value in a Java certification -- it is a goal that can improve your skills. It can give you an advantage in an interview. etc. etc.

Having said that, I am afraid that in the comparison that you are doing, your friend in correct. Certifications for SAs is serious business. SAs work on production machines. They don't work in large groups. And there isn't much room to make mistakes. Certifications are very important, and the expert ones are very hard to get (and in the case cited by your friend, the CCIE is ridiculously hard to get).

The word "Expert" in the name of the Java exam is just that - a word. It does not signify anything in particular, as there are no different levels of Java certifications (in contrast to Cisco, apparently, where Expert appears to be one of several different levels).

So the question amounts to the value of Java certifications in general - a subject on which Henry touches, and which has been discussed in these forums many, many times. You can use the "Search" link at the top of the page to find those discussions; be sure to search through all forums.
