Class Locks for Static methods

Hello,

I have another confusion, when we say that we are synchronizing a static method, we get a class lock and any other
thread has to wait, before the lock is release. Do the same lock also occurs in case of static data members or only
methods?

You can only synchronize methods not variables. This is why its recommended to have variables as private so that they are not accessible directly outside of the class...
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
