Got a score 78%, here is the story:

I studied for about a year or so, on and off. Read carefully through KB book twice, then started with Enuware mock tests, my average score there was 62%. Starting from last week (yes, a week before I write the real exam), I started going through the ExamLab mock exams, the average score was only about 50%. In my view, both of the mock exams are very good studying materials, they give the chances to look at the Java specs from all different angles that you have never thought about, highly recommend them both.

I did buy KB's OCP Java SE 6 Programmer Practice Exams, but did not finish them, only covered the diagnosis and the 1st exam, compared to the two simulated mock exams listed above, I would recommend you finish Enuware and ExamLab first, they give you the real feeling about how the actual exam will take place.

Overall, this is very good learning experience for me.

Good luck for all!

Jim

Forgot to ask you...

While reading the KB's textbook, how did you do in the chapter's questions?
How do you rate those (difficulty-wise) against examlab or enthuware?
I suppose examlab must be the toughest out there. Then comes KB's questions, then enthuware and then the real test. Is that assumption valid according to your experience?

Thanks for everyone!.

Reply to Achilleas Achix:

I have to go through the KB chapter questions multiple times, most of the times, I got about 45% correct for the first time. I tend to go back to do the chapter questions again after a few month, i.e. to make sure they are not that fresh in my brain anymore, was getting about 75% for retaking those chapter questions. I still make the same mistakes in the other 25%!

Yeah, your order of difficulty is about right with my experience.

Congratulations Jim !

Im going to take the test in 14 days and i made Devakas Test as well as the KB Exam books first two assesment tests. And i must say i always end up with 40-50%

Would you say that the real exam is easier ?

Yes, the real tests are definitely easier than Devakas' ExamLab tests, if you can get 40-50% in ExamLab, I think you do stand a good chance to pass the real one.

Cheers,
Jim

Congrats as well!

I took the exam yesterday and finished it with a score of 95%, so it's definitely a lot easier than the practice exams. I read the K&B study guide twice and read the two minute drills about half an hour before taking the test. I also used the K&B practice exams and scored an average of about 65-75% on the first three - leaving me a bit demotivated. So I just studied the topics I failed in the first three tests again and took half of the fourth test the evening before the exam (it was too late to do the whole test) and scored 28 out of 30 questions right, leaving me confident for the real thing.
