Hey all!!! Please help me out as i am all confused with this one......

I am an engineering gradaute with computer science, and am currenly working in a MNC. I really dont want to go into the usual grrove of doing an MBA and then spend your whole life managing stuff .. I want to take computer Forensics and Information security as a carreer, and have also found some places, where i can acquire the skill set for the same. What i am confused is what are the prospects for the same, as i have really no idea where it is gonna land me to.

Can some one please help!!!

Short term, the prospects are very good. There is a huge demand for smart, talented folks in that area.

Predictions are hard, especially about the future.

If you think you are going to be doing the same thing in 20 years that you are doing just out of school, you are wrong. Things change.

Indeed. Right out of school I was writing CPU microcode for one of the first VAXes, and memory diagnostics for one of the last PDP-11s. A far cry from what I am doing now (though to be fair, it's been 32 years, not 20).

Thanks for all the reply.

Rahul, its all about data security, network monitoring and encryption algorithms. As much as i have gathered its one of the governmnet sponsored(India) fields of post graduate stuides, that requires some level of expertise in Network penetration, failsafe encryption algorithms and all. A little out of the box may be, and certainly sounds very cool. Kind of like the stuff that is provided by SANS except that it is much more in depth, and research oriented.

Plus only 10 students are selcted for this course every year!!!

Its most likely to be about using encryption algorithms. Creating them is a topic for pure math.

I didn't say it. I'm just telling you what this tiny ad said.
