Hello Ranchers,

Today I passed OCMJEA Part1 with 68%. Not a good score, but I managed to pass
Thank you all java ranchers for suggestions, experience, ideas etc.

As my work was primarily on web-technologies/web took kits, it took me nearly 3/4 months to prepare for it.
I would say it was a nice experience studying all other technologies such as EJB, JMS, Web Services, etc.

Books/Notes I refered to:

SCEA Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for Java EE Study Guide - Paul Allen & Joseph Barbara.
Sun Certified Enterprise Architect - Mark Cade & Humphrey Sheil
EJB 3 in action by Debu Panda, Reza Rehman, Derek Lane.
Core J2EE Patterns - Deepak Alur, John Krupi, Dan Malks
Java 5 EE tutorial
Web service blueprints: http://java.sun.com/blueprints/guidelines/designing_webservices/html/
SCEA 5 Study Guide by Mikalai Zaikin(http://java.boot.by/scea5-guide/) - Nice study material especially the Security Chapter.

Few related internet links that I read:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/javase/index-140168.html
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/webservices/library/ws-jcajms/index.html
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/library/techarticles/0707_thaker/0707_thaker.html
http://java.sun.com/j2ee/tutorial/1_3-fcs/doc/Security.html
Nice blog: http://mycollectivematerial.blogspot.com/2009/02/sun-certified-enterprise-architect.html

I tried few mockups available on internet:
http://www.javachamp.com/sun-certified-enterprise-architect-scea
http://www.javabeat.net/
Javaranch post that has lots of links to Mock Exam: https://coderanch.com/t/485326/java-Architect-SCEA/certification/SCEA-Free-Mock-Exams-URLS

Now, with one week break I would be starting with the preparation for Part 2 and Part 3 as need to bind by August 1 deadline.

Congratulations Nileesh.
Thanks for also posting the books for reference.
I had a small question though which I have read about the drag-drop questions.
What are they as I have not seen any about the drag drop.
Also I could not see any question on security in the mock exams. Can you please throw some light on this.

Thanks Ashok.

I had two Drag n Drop questions in my exam. They could be anything like fitting components/APIs in architectural tiers/layers or may be mapping some of the business components with their typical usages, etc. Only caution is that if you want to revisit the question again, the answers entered earlier would be reset.

Security is also one of the main topic for OCMJEA. Exam does have questions on it. You could refer to some of the security chapters in Java EE 5 tutorial:
Chapter 29: Securing Java EE application
Chapter 30: Securing Web applications

Also the security chapters from SCEA 5 Study Guide by Mikalai Zaikin is helpful.

SCEA - Part 1

I have downloaded the assignment from prometric site : http://ibt.prometric.com/oracle using First Time Registration link.
But I would say to wait for 1 more day as Pearson will take over from 1st June and you could get a link to download from the pearson account login.
