I want to create an app that allows users to share content between each other. Key is, that users will be able to create their own content ( drawings ) and search for stuff uploaded by other users. Simple, common enough idea. What I'm wodered is should the functionality to allow a user create their own drawings ( which would be the most complex part ) be something that is best done on a web page via a PC and uploaded or should this be something that I should implement via Android SDK? Having worked in a java background I'm comfortable enough with how the app will be hosted on a web server and user authentication and stuff, just this Android client front end is what is puzzling me, ie what are it's limitations as far as development effort vs functionality goes? I know that using JQuery I can implement the drawing UI that I would need but I am looking for alternatives to this.

PS This app is not really going any place, just something that I want to do to get a handle on this Android client/server thingy.
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
