  • Any major differences between 6 and 5 ?
  • For how long will the WCD-5 exam be available ?
  • Where can i get the objectives, topics to study/not study for WCD-6 ?
  • Is the 6 exam available ? (I dont want the beta-version)
  • Any good links for beginners to study for WCD-6 ? (Something similar to the Head First book)

  • I feel that its better to take the WCD-5 exam because PLENTY of resources are available for it and they are time-tested. Also, if the differences between 5 & 6 are minor, then it would be better to take 5. After that test, one can learn the difference by reading docs, manuals and doing test projects using ver-6.
Please let me know if this is correct.

    regards
    bose

As Mohamed pointed, refer to this thread for more information.

  • In short - yes, the SCWCD 5 bases on JEE 5 while OCE Jsp and Servlets Developer bases on JEE 6. For more information about the JEE 6 stack please refer to this page.
You've got Servlets 3.0 (asynchronous support, programmatic addition of servlets, filters, new annotations, web-fragments, ...) updated EL and so on.

  • I guess it's the question for the Oracle, so feel free to ask them.

  • The most obvious answer is: at the Oracle webpage. Take a look at this.

  • Yes it is. Once again take a look at official Oracle certification webpage I mentioned above.

  • Take a look at the post I linked to at the beginning and at standard JavaRanch site which is: https://coderanch.com/how-to/java/ScwcdLinks.

    Cheers
