We all know Bear is serious about his boots.

But does he follow the latest trends?

I guess the next step is for plastic surgeons to make their feet like that.

LOL. Yeah, I've seen that video... yikes!

Personally, I prefer rounded toes and sensible flat heels. Those that were at TSSJS in March will likely recognize these boots that I wore most of the time there:

When one rides a motorcycle, one has to be! After all, if there's a chance you might need to put your feet down onto the pavement at 60mph, do you want to be wearing Birkenstocks?

Here's my idea of sensible footwear:

More likely orthopedic surgeons to fix the damage to their feet!

So Bear, do you cut off the lower legs of your jeans to fit in the top of your boots?

When I wore boots like those, I just wore flair'd or bellbottom jeans.

Nope. The boots are custom-fitted and designed to have the jeans tucked into them. I've had one too many yellow-jackets fly up my pants leg.

These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

Bear reminds me the song....I wanna be a cowboy baby

I would assume that would be "one".

I wish I could say it had just been one. Some people never learn.

That also doesn't count yellow jackets (which I loathe) flying down my collar, down my back, or into my helmet. Getting a yellow jacket sting, on your ear, while in gnarly traffic, isn't as much fun as it sounds.

I see that these guys tackle the problem by trying to blend in.

I don't think that the yellow jackets are fooled.

I may be mis-remembering, but aren't there some kinds of bugs that can only sting once, and some that can sting over and over? hopefully these guys are the one-and-done kind, but it would still suck. I once had a honey-bee lodge in my watch band while on my bicycle, and it was less than fun. I can only imagine getting stung on the ear.

I believe that most wasps are multi-stingers. And yes, the ear sting was definitely one of the more memorable ones!

It's the honey bee who can sting only once and die. and the photo that Bear has shared looks like bee.

Edit :- I followed Bear's link and it is wasp not bee.

The Stetson cowboy boots were about $120 USD, as I recall.

The redwood kee-high motorcycle boots were custom-made to my measurements, and you do not want to know how much they ran.

Around here, that's a small fraction of monthly rent rates.

That has to be a made up story. One for "The Daily Show". Those are the ugliest things I have seen, and they can't dance. ;)
