Where can i get some info about how this fx has been received by "experts" and what are its pros and cons ?

You can google for Javafx 2 and will end up with results from various blogs. I am yet to try out some good app using this.

I had a previous installation of Netbeans 7, download the plugins zip from the JavaFX download site and installed these from the Netbeans plugin installation window, didnt find any issues after I installed them.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
