Can I take 310-503 directly? Thanks.

310-052 Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE 5
310-053 Sun Certified Enterprise Architect, Java, EE5 Upgrade Exam

The upgrade exam is for those people who have taken (and passed) an earlier version of the SCEA exam. For example, if you are already SCEA J2EE 1.2 certified, then you can take the upgrade exam to bring your certification up to SCEA J2EE 5.

If you are not already have the SCEA certificate, then you cannot take the upgrade path. You must take the part 1 multi-choice exam, the part 2 assignment, and the part 3 essay exam.
