Looks like your database/driver does not support the use of auto generated keys.

So what am I supposed to do??? how do I resolve this??? I am using the classes12.jar file supplied with Oracle. what other jar file do I need to download?

my database schema is like this

create table cuisine (cuisine_id NUMBER(5),cuisine_name VARCHAR2(50));

I am using a sequence generator to generate the keys for this table.
My pojo class is like this.

Thanks,
Shreyash

Upgrade your driver.

classes12 was the Oracle 9 driver for JDK 1.2 and 1.3. Both that database and those JDKs are long past their end of life. I would recommend downloading the latest driver, or if you have a reason for being on such old software change your key generation strategy to one supported by that database.
