I have implemented my server functionality through the new System tray API in JDK 1.6.
But, the main problem i encountered is assigning it a icon through my jar. If i put an image in the submission jar, it would be
against the Bodgitt and Scarper requirement. For the time being, i have kept no image, but it looks transparent and non-indicative of server functionality
without appropriate icon.

Please tell me how if i should keep it image'less or i can put the image in the jar by any means not violating the must requirements.

There is no need for system tray functionality, so why making all the effort for something that's not required.

Why do you think adding images to the runme.jar is against the requirements?

I wanted to try the System tray functionality provided in JDK 1.6, so i used it in my system, to give it a server like feel.

The structure mentioned in the instructions.html says - "where a specific spelling or structure is required, even a slight deviation could result in automatic failure."

Doesn't it mean putting an image in the submission jar might be violating this requirement?

You should put an image you want to use in your application inside the "runme.jar", not in your submission jar. Otherwise your application will not be able to access the image.

Is it permissible to add images in runme.jar?

There is no must requirement, so I didn't do it. But I know people who added images to their runme.jar and used them as icons for menu-items, buttons,... and they passed. Using the search engine you can find a lot of valuable information about this functionality, e.g. here.
