How to distinguish between text and voice data in udp chat .  RSS feed

I am creating a chat application using udp sockets.. i m confused that how to distinguish between the text and voice data when it reaches the serverside ...because both are send in a byte array.do i have to use seprate sockets??

I believe, the first step in UDP kind of applications, is to define the packet structure. Packet structure determines what will be sent in each packet, how long and in which order etc... You may assign one bit to distinguish between voice and non-voice.
