general things about f:ajax

i'm using ajax in almost every jsf page ...
i found it very useful ..

but i wondering whether excessive use of f:ajax is good programming attitude or not ?
can you please tell me any drawbacks of f:ajax ? in-case of project maintenance is it good ?

AJAX is almost mandatory these days - it makes web pages cool and all that other marketstuff.

Realistically, it does tend to reduce the page-flashing that you get when doing a lot of work on a page that's being repeatedly updated. But there is a cost.

Each AJAX request involves an HTTP request/response cycle. So it puts more of a load on your network. Depending on how smart the interface and application code is, it may send a lot of redundant information back and forth. And, since the "J" stands for JavaScript, you can depend on extra browser work to process the JavaScript. A lot of optimization to JavaScript engines on modern-day browsers was specifically targeted at AJAX.
