I am using Jboss 5.1

I need to use a timer of some sort to perform some tasks on the server.

I would like to be able to dynamically create new timers (through a thin client) and even update timer intervals. I know jboss has a timer mbean but I do not think you can create new timers on the fly. I.E. I think you have to create a new mbean in the config file.

I also heard jboss comes with quartz. I have not used it before but seems a little more dynamic than using the mbean.

Can anyone give my any advice on what to use such that I have a nice timer architecture that supports dynamic updates?

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
